On 18 July 2014, representatives of Sulzer and Enbridge met at Sulzer’s plant in Portland, Oregon, USA, to celebrate the shipment of the 1000th pump. It is now installed at Enbridge’s Vesper, Wisconsin, USA, location. Sulzer has been supplying mainline pumps to Enbridge since 1953. In the recent past the pump portfolio supplied to Enbridge has been complemented with pipeline booster vertical pumps. The companies collaborate on specifically engineered pumps such as this one.
Sulzer pumps are involved in installed oil pipelines services throughout the world. The pumps are specifically designed for each pipeline application with custom features and hydraulics to meet the most stringent customer and governmental requirements both for the present and future expansions. A professional team knowledgeable in the customer’s requirements designed, customised and manufactured it to Enbridge needs.
Sulzer has recently made major investments at their Portland Oregon facility, adding Machining Centres and increasing testing capacity of large pumps.
