PennEast confirms pipeline route change

World Pipelines,
After speaking with various stakeholders, along with meetings with regulators, elected officials and other agencies, Penn East officials say they've altered the PennEast pipeline's original route from August 2014.
A new proposed alternate route is still in the very early stages of the regulatory process, according to PennEast, and the greatest change from the original route appears to be in Luzerne and Carbon counties.
With every move, PennEast notifies a new set of landowners that their property is in the path of the project and informs others that their land is no longer under active consideration.
So far, about 55% of landowners in the path of the pipeline have given PennEast permission to survey their land.
The US$1 billion project is designed to take natural gas from Pennsylvania's Marcellus Shale fields to markets in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and beyond.
PennEast is expected to file a formal application to build the pipeline with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in 3Q15.
The new route is available at PennEast's website.
