H-Energy to lay Maharashtra-Mangalore gas pipeline

According to several sources, H-Energy Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the real estate group Hiranandani Group, has been permitted to lay a 635 km gas pipeline that will connect Jalgarh in Maharashtra to Magalore. The pipeline will have a capacity of 17 million m³/d of natural gas, and offer 4.23 million m³/d of natural gas and will offer 4.25 million m³/d of capacity to third parties for common carrier access.

According to Business Standard, the pipeline will start in Jaigarh, in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, then stop at Panjim in Goa, afterwards it will move on to Karwar, in the Uttara Kannada district, and Udupi in Karnataka before reaching it’s final destination in Mangalore.

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) said, "The entity is allowed a maximum period of 36 months for the date of issue of the authorisation letter for ommissioning of the natural gas pipeline project."

According to the Economic Times, last month, H-Energy claimed that the pipeline "will connect major industrial units like refineries, fertilizer plants, petrochemical plants and power plants in the south-western coastal stretch of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Goa, Karwar, Udupi and Mangalore.

Additionally, all sources reported that H-Energy Gateway Pvt Ltd (HEGPL), an affiliate of HEPL, is said to be establishing a 4 million tpy floating LNG terminal at the Jaigarh port in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra.
