One week left to leave feedback on Cadent’s H2East Pipeline: Humber to Nottinghamshire

The H2East Pipeline: Humber to Nottinghamshire will play a vital role in safe-guarding British manufacturing, encouraging inward investment, decarbonising energy intensive industry and supporting the development of new skills and jobs in the region.

The pipeline will supply low-carbon hydrogen to key industries across the Humber, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire region. The H2East Pipeline: Humber to Nottinghamshire will run around 150 km (93 miles) from Immingham in the Humber to Newark in Nottinghamshire. It will also include some above ground infrastructure at certain points along the route. The proposals would mean that manufacturers of steel, chemicals, bricks, food and more will be able to switch from natural gas, which largely consists of methane, to low-carbon hydrogen.

During the consultation, Cadent has been sharing its plans and seeking views on the pipeline’s route. Ten in-person events have been held and one public online webinar, with 399 people attending. Cadent would like to thank everyone who came along to the events to meet the team and have left their feedback so far.

Consultation closes on 14 April, therefore people still have one more week to provide feedback.

Our next steps will be to consider all the feedback we receive to further develop our plans before holding a second consultation.”

 

The Project is part of East Coast Hydrogen, a collaboration between Cadent, National Gas and Northern Gas Networks to connect planned hydrogen production and storage with industrial users.
