Sunbury Pipeline Project update
UGI Sunbury LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of UGI Energy Services LLC, has announced dates and locations for two informational open houses on the Sunbury Pipeline Project.
UGI Sunbury is hosting the open houses to enable landowners and interested residents to learn more about the Sunbury Pipeline Project. The company’s team of experts will be available at various stations, including safety, pipeline engineering and construction, land and restoration.
The first open house will be held on 24 February at the Lairdsville Volunteer Fire Department, 143 School Lane, Lairdsville, Pennsylvania. The event will run from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.
The second open house will be held on 25 February at the Sunbury Social Club, 352 East Drive, Sunbury, Pennsylvania. The event will run from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.
“We are excited to host the upcoming Sunbury Pipeline open houses, which are another step in our commitment to fostering relationships with the communities in our service area,” said Alisa Harris, UGI Energy Services Vice President of government and public affairs. “The open houses also will enable guests to visit each of the stations, which will be staffed by members of our project team who will be able to talk with them one-on-one to best address their questions.”
The approximately 35 mile long Sunbury Pipeline is being designed to bring abundant natural gas supplies to growing natural gas markets in central Pennsylvania. Located entirely within north central Pennsylvania, it will begin in eastern Lycoming County and end near Shamokin Dam in Snyder County.
In addition to creating jobs and promoting economic growth in Pennsylvania, the pipeline will supply Pennsylvanians with a more affordable, efficient energy source. The project must satisfy a number of conditions before advancing, including approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
