Garlock Pipeline Technologies releases new VCS-ID™
-Garlock Pipeline Technologies (GPT), the world’s leading manufacturer of safe, high performance gasket and sealing solutions, is proud to announce the release of the all-new VCS-ID™ high-reliability seal.
The latest in GPT’s Very Critical Service (VCS) product family, the VCS-ID™ (inside diameter) includes an internal, machined polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seal located at the bore of the existing VCS design platform. A patented interlocking mechanism ensures an extremely tight and reliable seal that is resistant to both internal pressure and aggressive media. The VCS-ID™ is designed to stop media before it has a chance to attack and eliminates the need for exotic metal cores.
During installation, the interlocking mechanism compresses to a final state that is approximately the same diameter as the pipe ID. This reduces cavitation in the piping, flange erosion, flange face corrosion, and helps prevent microbiologically induced corrosion. In addition, the PTFE interlocking mechanism creates a longer effective dielectrically isolated distance and does not have a tendency to absorb water, making it your front line of defence in electrical isolation.
“The VCS-ID™ is the new front-runner when it comes to critical sealing solutions for chemical and isolating applications,” said Tim Hurley, Senior Product Manager. “We’re committed continuously developing new, innovative products that increase safety, reliability and efficiency for our customers.”
Built using high quality, durable materials, the VCS-ID™ is meant for virtually all services up to and including ANSI 2500 and API 5000 classes. Simply put, the VCS-ID™ helps ensure unconditional performance optimisation.
