Trelleborg displays suite of premium materials

Trelleborg’s advanced engineering and materials (AEM) operation will showcase its suite of premium epoxy tooling materials as well as adhesives, sealers and pastes at this year’s SAMPE Baltimore.

Trelleborg’s range of epoxy tooling materials offers customers a selection of low density and ultra-high temperature materials designed for the manufacture of precise and stable master models and moulds. These will be on view on stand G57 along with high temperature adhesives and color pastes, as well as the recently launched Sealer, ES930 and Release Agent, ER950.

Trelleborg manufactures its range of premium epoxy tooling materials using Eccospheres® made in-house at its factory in Boston, Massachusetts. These thin-walled, hollow glass microspheres are developed to meet demanding strength, weight and electrical specifications for materials used in the aerospace, electronics, and industrial markets. To the naked eye they resemble a fine, white, free-flowing powder; however magnification reveals them to be near perfect spheres. Eccospheres® help reduce costs, enhance specific properties and improve material processing.

In addition to high performance tooling materials, Trelleborg will also showcase its ER950 release agent specially formulated to work across the entire range of its epoxy tooling material portfolio. The easily applied solution offers superior finishing and allows Trelleborg to offer a complete suite of products for tool and mould manufacture.

Trelleborg’s ES930 high gloss mould and tool sealer has been specially formulated to seal all types of substrates. With a low odour and a quick cure, the easily applied solution offers superior sealing capability and can be used with all composite media – pre-pregs, resin transfer mould and infusion processes, allowing customers to purchase a complete suite of products from one manufacturer.
