Following successful product launches in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas, a new centre demonstrating the latest track and trace solution for the global oil and gas industry is being launched in Aberdeen.
Swire Oilfield Services, the leading global supplier of cargo carrying solutions, modular systems, offshore aviation services and fluid management for the energy industry, will showcase the capabilities of their recently launched full-service track and trace solution, OverVu®, at their new Track and Trace Development Centre.
As a live operating environment, the unique industry facility will enable Swire Oilfield Services to develop and optimise workflows, grow their intellectual capital and competitive advantage, use the centre as a sandbox to evaluate new ideas and technologies, and test customer specific requirements, while at the same time offering clients the opportunity to visit and see real-time operations.
The new centre officially launched with open days for invited customers on 9 and 10 December.
The OverVu software application platform allows companies to identify, locate and track assets, equipment and materials across the globe through their web browser. This highly user configurable software uses customisable web services to integrate easily and cost effectively into clients’ existing business applications. In response to market demand and dynamics, Swire Oilfield Services’ track and trace solution uses components that are compliant with international standards for identification of assets and materials, data communications and sharing events. This approach is critically important to the global energy market, as a means of fostering market adoption and growth.
Nick Coaton, General Manager of Track & Trace Solutions at Swire Oilfield Services said: “This new facility not only enables us to continue to develop the solutions our customers require, but also gives us the opportunity to clearly demonstrate the technology in a live operating environment.
