World Pipelines,
Fotech Solutions will be exhibiting at the ninth annual Pipeline Integrity Management Summit on 15-17 March in Berlin, Germany. Fotech will be showcasing its LivePIPE® pipeline monitoring solution.
LivePIPE adds a new layer of intelligence to pipeline security operations, enabling operators to prevent third party intrusions. The system connects into an opertor’s fibre optic network into numerous individual highly-sensitive vibrational sensors, enabling the software to identify any potential threats. Fotech’s proprietary alarm-handling technology is configured to emphasise only alerts for events that operators want to know about.
“Fotech’s LivePIPE system is a major value-add for pipeline operators, enabling them to significantly enhance the range and capabilities of existing pipeline security and monitoring systems,” commented Stuart Large, Product Line Director, Fotech Solutions. “Our LivePIPE solution is a powerful tool that operators can use to mitigate malign and accidental threats. When integrated with the fibre network adjacent to the pipeline, LivePIPE’s monitoring capabilities can cover a limitless distance. This gives operators unprecedented visibility of what is happening along the entire length of the pipeline and, crucially, facilitates fast, informed and confident real-time decision making.”
Fotech will be exhibiting its LivePIPE solution in the Florenz foyer area throughout the Pipeline Integrity Management Forum.

Construction begins on Greensand’s carbon dioxide transit terminal at Port Esbjerg
When the tanks are full, the liquefied carbon dioxide will be loaded onto a dedicated carrier from Royal Wagenborg and shipped to the INEOS Nini platform in the Danish North Sea. From there, it will be safely injected via pipeline into subsurface reservoirs approximately 1800 m beneath the seabed for permanent storage.
