World Pipelines,
Using bespoke inspection technology, along with greater involvement of pipeline inspection engineers early in the pipeline design process, the complexity and cost of inspecting deepwater pipelines is reduced.
Inspecting these pipelines is extremely challenging. One problem might be that they lie in excess of 2000 m (6500 ft) subsea, giving rise to the issues that are commonly associated with working in these remote environments, such as high pressure and accessibility. Another is that the pipeline was probably not designed with a view to making it easier to inspect.
As a result, inspection is often problematic, time consuming and expensive. To address these issues, NDT Global has engineered a customised inline inspection (ILI) tool that employs ultrasonic technology and has proven to be a very effective, field-proven solution.
The following whitepaper explores how combining technology and experience helps to achieves a cost effective solution for these challenging assets. The whitepaper can be found here.
