Pentair presents expanded portfolio at WGC

World Pipelines,

Pentair Valves & Controls will present its expanded portfolio of specialised products for the LNG industry at the World Gas Conference (WGC) 2015. Three products designed specifically for LNG applications have been added to the company's comprehensive offering for this market.

Enhancing its current range of products for use across the entire LNG chain, Pentair will introduce the Vanessa Series 30 000 Buttweld Top Entry Body Triple Offset Valve (TOV), an FCT cryogenic ball valve, and a new Anderson Greenwood 9300H pilot operated pressure relief valve at WGC. These latest additions are engineered to support the industry’s most critical needs, helping operators maximise operational efficiency, reduce costs and avoid unnecessary downtime and maintenance.

A proven range of TOVs in LNG applications, the Vanessa Series 30,000 now includes the Buttweld Top Entry Body, an enhanced design for use in the gas treatment, liquefaction and regasification stages of the LNG chain. Here, where temperatures reach -196°C, the valve can be fully accessed without being removed from the line, allowing for efficient repair work. The valve delivers tightness performance well below the limits of internationally recognised standards and features a one-piece Nitronic® 50 solid seal ring, which provides high corrosion resistance and exceptional yield strength. An extended bonnet ensures that packing is protected from low temperature impact, and a robust triple offset non-rubbing design with Stellite® grade 21 seat weld overlay enables a longer lifecycle with no maintenance requirements. Plus, the entire valve trim can be removed from the body and individual valve parts accessed in total safety.

Pentair’s new cryogenic FCT ball valve enables robust and reliable valve performance in extreme conditions in gas treatment and liquefaction applications. Offering high integrity shaft seals and a choice of valve body materials, the new addition to Pentair’s LNG portfolio is suitable for temperatures down to -196°C. Built on Pentair’s extensive expertise and heritage in the LNG market, the valve delivers enhanced safety, operational efficiency and productivity.

An extension of Pentair’s successful Anderson Greenwood Type 9300 range of POPRVs, the 9300H offers an improved design, which enables the valve to improve flow by 30 percent. Addressing the key challenges of modern on- and offshore LNG storage tanks, the valve minimises equipment footprint - critical for LNG vessels where space is limited - without compromising flow capacity. By providing increased flow, the valve can efficiently and quickly relieve pressure without the need to increase its size, offering LNG carrier owners and plant operators design flexibility. This is a vital advantage in LNG pressure protection applications, where cost-effectiveness, operational efficiency and maintenance are crucial to reducing unplanned operational downtime.

“We understand how increased energy demands and changing application needs are driving global development in the LNG market,” comments Pieter Kok, industry development manager, oil and gas at Pentair. “Through working closely with customers to provide enhanced product capabilities, we are launching new products that optimise efficiency, maximise safety and reduce the need for costly unplanned maintenance. We’re looking forward to introducing our new products for the LNG industry at the World Gas Conference 2015 and demonstrating how the market can benefit from technology that will meet customers’ needs and deliver added value.”

With one of the largest and most complete portfolios made up of specialised products and brands, Pentair offers expert solutions for every stage of the LNG process to increase safety, reliability and operational uptime.
