Oman has stated that its undersea pipeline, which is set to transport Iranian natural gas to the Persian Gulf, will complete its construction within the next six months.
In 2013, Iran and Oman signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), where Iran would ship 20 million m3/d of natural gas to Oman for a period of 25 years, valued at around US$60 billion.
However, the pipeline project has been postponed due to the imposition of West-engineered sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
Yet, now: “Expert and commercial studies of the pipeline for exports of Iranian gas to Oman are being carried out and will conclude in the next six months,” Oman’s Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi stated.
