World Pipelines,
On Saturday 6 August, a fire erupted from a natural gas pipeline in Iran. The line was immediately shutdown and the fire has since been controlled.
A local official has previously said that at least one person had been killed in the fire.
However, Mohammad Mohseni – Head of the Health, Safety & Environment department at Gachsaran Oil and Gas Company – stated that this was incorrect.
Mohseni went on to explain that "the fire started at 00:45 ... and was fully contained at 05:00. There has been no fatality. In total four people are injured.”
It has also been discovered that the polyethylene facilities and sour gas lines located around the 42 in. natural gas pipeline were not damaged.
The fire has supposedly occurred during maintenance operations. Further investigations have also been arranged.
