World Pipelines,
The Pipeline Energy Group (PEG) Conference 2016, which will be held in Clearwater Beach, Florida, 10 – 12 May, represents an excellent opportunity for engineers, energy managers, consultants and vendors that serve the pipeline industry to meet and discuss the latest technologies and trends. As part of this meeting, Sulzer’s Pump Services group will be on hand to share their expertise in pump design and will also be giving a presentation on centrifugal pump fundamentals.
The annual meeting was originally devised by a group of oil pipeline energy managers to discuss different ways to optimise their expenditure on energy. Over the years, the conference has grown from a half-day meeting to three half days and includes technical presentations from members, vendors and industry experts.
Sulzer’s Pump Services group will be on hand to share their expertise in pump design and will also be giving a presentation on centrifugal pump fundamentals.
With the focus on reducing energy expenditure, Sulzer will be giving a technical presentation on the fundamental design characteristics of the centrifugal pump and how to maximise performance and efficiencies as well as reduce maintenance costs for each application. In addition, there will be advice on identifying common issues and how to resolve them.
As an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for pumping solutions, Sulzer engineers, designs and produces a broad range of pumps that offer high performance and efficient operation within oil and gas midstream plants. Sulzer also refurbishes and re-rates pumps operating in the midstream industry today. Furthermore, the company offers a remanufacturing service for parts used in many current brands as well as obsolete equipment.
Sulzer is a leader for rotating equipment services with a worldwide network of service centers, supported by design, manufacturing and engineering facilities that can offer turnkey solutions for the midstream market.

Construction begins on Greensand’s carbon dioxide transit terminal at Port Esbjerg
When the tanks are full, the liquefied carbon dioxide will be loaded onto a dedicated carrier from Royal Wagenborg and shipped to the INEOS Nini platform in the Danish North Sea. From there, it will be safely injected via pipeline into subsurface reservoirs approximately 1800 m beneath the seabed for permanent storage.
