Ecopetrol awards engineering contract to SNC-Lavalin

On 17 November, SNC-Lavalin announced that it had been awarded a contract by Ecopetrol in Colombia for conceptual, basic and detailed engineering on high and medium complexity projects through to 2020.
This contract builds on the company’s success over the past five years in Latin America’s oil and gas sector and solidifies SNC-Lavalin’s commitment to the region. Ecopetrol operates across exploration and production, refining and petrochemicals, as well as transportation and logistics. The contract spans projects across the entire spectrum of Ecopetrol’s business and its affiliates.
“This contract with Ecopetrol is another positive step towards our goal to increase our market share in Latin America,” said Marino Barbi, General Manager of SNC-Lavalin’s Oil & Gas sector in Latin America.
“We see growth potential in the region through downstream and midstream engineering, procurement and contruction projects, and this contract gives us a great opportunutiy to work across multiple stages of the oil and gas supply chain with Colombia’s national oil company for the next three years.”
