World Pipelines,
An official has been quoted by Far News Energy as stating: “the Azeri delegation officially requested … that Iran participates in the [project to] export natural gas to Europe through Azerbaijan.”
Joining the project
If Iran joins the pipeline project, there will be no concern over the provision of required volumes to Europe.
This was allegedly agreed during a meeting between the Azeri delegation and Iranian oil officials. The agreement was that Iran could export its natural gas easier through Azerbaijan, instead of transporting it to Europe itself.
The aim is to eventually connect to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), following the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP).
