Reuters: Colombia and Venezuela to repair binational gas pipeline

Reuters has reported that Colombia and Venezuela have agreed to repair a damaged section of a binational pipeline that will allow Bogota to import natural gas from its neighbour, Colombia's Energy Ministry has said.

The Antonio Ricaurte gas ?pipeline has been inactive for years. A roadmap for re-establishing operations was outlined in a meeting of Colombia's mining and energy ministries, environmental licensing authority and Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA.

PDVSA will carry out the repairs in compliance with ?environmental regulations and will follow the pipeline's original route, Colombia's energy ministry said in a ?statement.

The pipeline stretches 225 km (140 mi) between both countries and has ?a transport capacity of 500 million ft3 of gas.
