According to THV11 and Arkansas News, Welspun Tubular has been reported to say that it has received a US$47 million order for coated 20 in. pipe to help build a 440 mile pipeline that will carry oil from Cushing in Oklahoma, to Memphis in Tennessee.

The company claims that this order accounts for approximately two thirds of the pipe needed to build the Diamond pipeline.

Diamond Pipeline LLC is a joint venture between Plains All American pipeline and Valero. Announced in 2014, the US$900 million pipeline project will be capable of transporting 200 000 bpd of domestic crude oil from the storage hub in Cushing, to Valero's refinery in Memphis.

"We're proud to contribute to bringing the benefits of this important piece of energy infrastructure to our community," commented Rusty Fisher, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing at Welspun. He added: "Through this prestigious pipeline order, Welspun Tubular continues to fulfill its commitment of supporting jobs to the state of Arkansas."

"We're pleased to build upon our established relationship with Welspun," said James Ferrell, Vice President of Supply Chain Management for Plains.
