Izhora pipe mill supplies pipes for Russian projects

PAO Severstal, one of the world’s leading vertically integrated steel and steel-related mining companies, has announces that it will supply about 140 thousand t of large diameter pipes for Gazprom's major gas transmission projects Power of Siberia and Ukhta-Torzhok-2 following the Gazprom’s auction results. The pipes are to be manufactured by the Izhora pipe mill, a part of Severstal’s Russian Steel division.

Construction of the pipelines involves supply of 14.2 m dia. pipes produced of K60 grade plates with inner and outer anti-corrosion coating designed for working pressure of 9,8 MPa. Izhora’s large diameter pipes are made using self-rolled sheet produced at the 5000 Sheet Rolling Mill at the Cherepovets Steel Mill’s #3 Sheet Shop. The pipes to be supplied by the end of 2016.

Sergey Toropov, CEO of Severstal Russian Steel division commented: “Izhora pipe mill managed to employ its facilities at full utilisation throughout 2015. This year we target to maintain high levels of utilisation rates due to participation in major gas transmission projects in despite of complicated economic situation in Russia and globally.”
