World Pipelines,
The Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada (PLCAC) celebrates its 60th anniversary in Vancouver this May, at its annual convention.
The PLCAC was founded by a small group of contractors in the February of 1954 at the Macdonald Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Role of the PLCAC in the Canadian pipeline industry
The association negotiates (and renews) several Canada-wide collective agreements covering mainline pipeline construction, natural gas distribution, pipeline construction and pipeline maintenance and service with the building trades unions in Canada that have traditionally held jurisdiction over pipeline construction.
PLCAC annual convention this May
PLCAC will hold its 60th Annual General Meeting and Convention in May 2014 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Today, the Association consists of 128 regular, associate and recognised honorary members.
As the association celebrates 60 years, it wishes to thank members for their support and thank those whose contributions to the association have made it a strong voice for pipeline construction contractors in Canada.
