PMC selects AX4energy JV accounting module from mcaConnect

World Pipelines,

mcaConnect, LLC (mcaConnect) announced that Plains Midstream Canada (PMC), an indirect subsidiary of Plains All American Pipeline L.P., has chosen the AX4energy Joint Venture Accounting module for Microsoft Dynamics AX, developed by mcaConnect.

Based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with assets across North America, PMC focuses on midstream activities – the wide range of facilities and services needed to connect oil and gas producers with refiners, petroleum dealers and other customers. PMC needed an effective, industry-specific joint venture accounting solution for its crude oil and liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) marketing, storage, terminalling and transportation operations.

The company is upgrading to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and sought a solution that could work in concert with this Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform. After a detailed review of available solutions PMC chose the AX4energy Joint Venture Accounting Solution from mcaConnect to meet its business needs.

The AX4energy Joint Venture Accounting module makes it simple and easy for energy companies to leverage the powerful technology of Microsoft Dynamics AX for Joint Venture Accounting business transactions. The solution handles Joint Interest Billing, Division of Interest, Overhead Management and Authorisation for Expenditure and more.

"The AX4energy Joint Venture Accounting module integrated with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 gives us the functionality we need, allowing us to meet our complex business transaction requirements, while ensuring our company is able to utilise the enterprise power of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012," said Bill Forward, Vice President of Finance for PMC.

mcaConnect enjoys a track record of success in providing Microsoft Dynamics AX business management software and solutions to energy companies using AX4energy. "With users at PMC already familiar with the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system, it was important for the company to find a solution they could count on for not just industry functionality, but also to leverage their existing investment," said David Huether, Vice President, Sales & Energy Solutions – AX4energy at mcaConnect. Huether added, "AX4energy is an innovative Joint Venture solution for E&P companies, as well as midstream companies like PMC, and we are looking forward to witnessing our valued client realise measurable return on their investment and make strong use of our industry best practices within AX4energy".
