EnCap Flatrock Midstream opens Houston office

World Pipelines,

Private equity firm EnCap Flatrock Midstream announced that it has expanded its presence by opening an office in the heart of downtown Houston. The new Houston location places EnCap Flatrock in close proximity to many important investors, oil and gas producers, and some of EnCap Flatrock’s own portfolio companies. EnCap Flatrock is headquartered in San Antonio and has an additional office in Oklahoma City.

EnCap Flatrock’s Houston team is led by Managing Director Sam Pitts, who joined EnCap Flatrock in 2014 after several years as an investment banker. During his investment-banking career, Mr. Pitts advised on more than US$50 billion of transactions and represented issuers in over US$15 billion of securities offerings. Before joining EnCap Flatrock, Mr. Pitts served for four years as a member of the senior leadership team in Citigroup’s Global Energy Investment Banking Group. In this capacity, he focused on financial advisory work related to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures within the midstream and upstream sectors as well as public and private capital market raises. Before joining Citigroup, he was with UBS Investment Bank and its predecessor company, Dillon Read & Co. Mr. Pitts holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of a new Houston office. It is a highly strategic location, and the strength of our team across three locations gives EnCap Flatrock a broad capacity to help our management teams succeed and create value for our investors,” said EnCap Flatrock Managing Partner and Founder Bill Waldrip. “As we saw increased demand for a Houston presence, we started looking for the best possible talent. Sam is a dynamic leader and an exceptionally talented midstream and energy finance expert. The depth of his industry experience brings superior knowledge and counsel to our management teams.”
