ShaMaran Petroleum Corp. (ShaMaran) has reported that operations in the Atrush field in Kurdistan are continuing in a normal, safe and secure manner.
Exports from Atrush are continuing via the Kurdistan export pipeline system and drilling operations on the CK-7 well are progressing as planned.
Atrush production for the month of September averaged 21 400 bpd or oil. In order to address certain production constraints the facilities were shut down in the beginning of October. Production has resumed and since 12 October has averaged 20 200 bpd of oil, whilst normal start up issues are being addressed.
Chris Bruijnzeels, President and CEO of ShaMaran, commented: “The current situation in Kurdistan is challenging. However, we are maintaining normal operations and continue to work towards reaching the facilities' design capacity of 30 000 boe/d.”
