Rosstandart and Gazprom to introduce best standardisation practices

World Pipelines,

A roadmap was signed by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Grigory Elkin, Head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2014.

The document envisages the introduction of the best practices in standardisation, metrology and products (works and services) quality assurance at Gazprom. The parties will also unite efforts to further streamline Gazprom's technical regulation system. The Roadmap covers eight areas and will be executed between 2014 and 2018 in three stages.

The first stage (from 2014 to 2015), in particular, will see the ongoing update of regulatory documents for the unification of technological products. Besides, the corporate regulatory guidelines will be adjusted in line with the updated standards in the energy sector.

The next stage (from 2015 to 2016) will see the completion of the system setup for products, works and services quality management at Gazprom. The system will provide for better efficiency of operation management, costs optimization as well as for shortening of timelines for the development, coordination and implementation of investment projects.

The final stage (from 2016 to 2018) involves the development of new domestic and corporate standards that would help Russian enterprises manufacture highly efficient equipment and materials for Gazprom's needs.
