NDT opens pipeline inspection tool factory and doubles ILI tool fleet
NDT Systems & Services, a supplier of ultrasonic pipeline inspection and integrity services, has announced the opening of a tool factory at its Stutensee location in Germany.
New facility
The new tool construction facility has been set up to assemble inline inspection tool components and to turn them into fully-fledged intelligent pigging tools for both onshore and offshore inspection projects.
The E 15 million investment will allow NDT to double its inspection tool capacity and to positively respond to the growing demand for liquid pipeline inspections by means of ultrasonic technology.
"This investment is our reaction to the overall, worldwide market growth for ultrasonic pipeline inspections", says NDT Systems & Services President Wolfgang Krieg, "but it also reflects our commitment to investing in engineering capacity and to strengthening our technology leadership."
The first tools will be ready for inspection projects by end of June 2013.
