EVRAZ names new VP of Tubular Technology

EVRAZ North America is pleased to announce that Martyn Wilmott has joined the company as Vice President – Tubular Product Technology. He is based at EVRAZ Calgary and has responsibility for the company's tubular quality, technical services, and flat and tubular research and development.

Wilmott brings more than 25 years of energy, infrastructure and manufacturing experience to EVRAZ. For the past eight years, he was President – Pipeline Services for Wasco Energy Limited in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with responsibility for the company's pipe manufacturing, pipe coating and corrosion protection divisions across Malaysia, Europe, the Americas and China. He has also held leadership positions with Jotun Powder Coatings, Bredero Shaw and Nova Corp. of Alberta.

"Martyn and his team will focus on deepening our understanding of customer requirements," said Conrad Winkler, EVRAZ North America President and CEO. "We are committed to raising the bar on our existing products, and developing new engineered products that provide the tighter tolerances and tougher attributes required in today's challenging energy environment."

Wilmott holds a doctorate and master's degrees in physical chemistry, electrochemistry and business administration, as well as a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. He also has 11 patents and has published more than 70 articles on pipeline corrosion, coating, cathodic protection and stress corrosion cracking.
