FERC issues Energy Infrastructure Update for June 2014

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has released its Energy Infrastructure Update for June 2014. The report notes that nine natural gas pipeline projects (total length: 706.8 miles; total capacity: 4.876 billion ft3/d) were proposed in June 2014, while four were certificated (total length: 88.4 miles; total capacity 3.055 billion ft3/d).
Natural gas highlights
- Sierrita Gas Pipeline received authorisation to construct and operate a pipeline and border facility, which will provide 201 million ft3/d of capacity to Mexico at the international boundary in Pima County, AZ.
- Cameron LNG and Cameron Interstate Pipeline received authorisation to construct and operate an LNG export terminal (1.7 billion ft3/d) at Cameron LNG’s existing import terminal in Cameron, LA, and pipeline facilities to provide 2.3 billion ft3/d of capacity to the proposed terminal.
- Rockies Express requested authorisation to construct and operate its Zone 3 East-to-West Project. This project will provide 1.2 billion ft3/d of east to west capacity within Zone 3 located in OH, IN, IL, and MO.
- Dominion requested authorisation to construct and operate its Clarington and New Market Projects, which will provide 250 million ft3/d and 112 million ft3/d, respectively, of transportation capacity for shippers with markets in the Northeast.
- ET Rover commenced the Commission’s pre-filing process to construct and operate its Rover Pipeline Project, which will provide 2.2 billion ft3/d of capacity from producing areas in OH, PA, and WV to markets in the Midwest.
- Equitrans commenced the Commission’s pre-filing process to construct and operate its Ohio Valley Connector Project, which will provide 900 million ft3/d of capacity from production areas in WV and PA to pipeline interconnections in OH.
