Hiland Crude, LLC has announced the launch of an open season to solicit shipper interest for crude oil transportation services, which includes an expansion of Hiland’s Double H pipeline and a new 488 mile pipeline that is currently under construction. An initial open season was held in 2012 for the base capacity.

The facilities will include the 488 mile Hiland pipeline currently under construction, which originates in the Bakken oil production areas near Dore, North Dakota, and Sydney, Montana, and terminates at Hiland’s tankage at Guernsey, Wyoming, together with new and increased capacity pump stations.

Under the service offered, Hiland will deliver oil into connecting pipelines in Guernsey, Wyoming. Interconnections at Guernsey will include the Tallgrass Pony Express pipeline and various other proposed interconnections. Hiland expects to transport up to 100 000 bbls/d of crude oil, beginning in the fourth quarter of 2014. The open season whether shipper interest is sufficient to support the expansion of Hiland’s Double H pipeline.
