South Stream makes a donation to help flood victims in Bulgaria

World Pipelines,

The management and employees of South Stream Transport were saddened to hear that the area around Varna, Bulgaria, was hit by lethal floods overnight. The community of Asparuhovo, which lies very close to the planned South Stream pipeline, was hit especially hard.

The Company has donated 50 000 BGN (approximately €25 000) to the Bulgarian Red Cross for assistance to the victims of the floods. In addition, South Stream Transport is talking to local organisations to identify further ways to help victims of the disaster and make a meaningful contribution to the ongoing rescue and restoration works.

South Stream Transport expresses its condolences to the relatives of the flooding victims and extends its support to all people helping to alleviate the situation in Varna.
