Tractebel ventures in crude oil pipeline

IL&FS Engineering & Construction Company Ltd has selected Tractebel Engineering (India) to provide detailed engineering for a 50 km crude oil pipeline in Mangalore, India.

The pipeline will run from LFP (Landfall Point) at the crude oil import terminal at Mangalore refinery to Mangalore/Padur underground Caverns and will be operationalised as a strategic crude oil storage in the south of India shortly. The project was awarded to its Indian subsidiary recently.

The final beneficiary of the project will be Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited (ISPRL – a subsidiary of Oil India Development Board (OIDB), under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India). IL&FS Engineering & Construction Company Ltd. (IL&FS), has been awarded the EPC contract for this project.

The broad scope of work includes the review of FEED data, carrying out residual and detailed engineering, procurement assistance, vendor document review and as built drawing finalisation.
