SOCAR to expand gas projects in Georgia

SOCAR Georgia Gas, a subsidiary of SOCAR Energy Georgia, will construct around 750 km of gas pipelines by late 2014 and provide approximately 22 000 new subscribers with gas.
According to SOCAR Georgia Holding’s official report for 2013, SOCAR Georgia Gas Company constructed 1179 km of new gas pipelines in Georgia and provided some 37 500 customers with natural gas. Currently, the total length of pipelines installed in the country equals to 3969 km and the company serves more than 347 000 subscribers. The total length of new gas pipelines laid by SOCAR Georgia Gas Distribution LLC in Georgia is 413 km and the number of subscribers provided with natural gas is 11 500.
In 2013, 652.5 million m3 of natural gas was exported to the Georgian market via SOCAR Georgia Gas LLC. Under the agreement between the Georgian government and SOCAR, the volumes of natural gas exported by SOCAR Gas Export-Import LLC reached 1.246 billion m3 in 2013.
