World Pipelines,
Williams Partners L.P. recently announced that its Transco gas pipeline has transported a record amount of natural gas. The pipeline has helped meet recent demand, that has been driven by recent cold weather conditions. In 2015 and 2016, the system was expanded, which has helped towards achieving this record.
With Transco delivering a record breaking 13.7 million dekatherms on 8 January, this new peak surpassed the previous high of 13.5 million dekatherms, which was set on 7 January 2015.
Between 7 and 9 January, Transco also established a new three day delivery record, averaging 13.6 million dekatherms. The previous three day peak was 12.9 million dekatherms.
Upcoming expansion projects are expected to add further capacity in 2017. Construction is underway on the Garden State, Gulf Trace, Dalton, Hillabee (Phase 1) and Virginia Southside II projects.
