NEB launches pipeline spill map

The National Energy Board has launched an interactive pipeline incident map to collate data for spills, fires, injuries and other events over the past eight years.
The Calgary-based NEB says some data is missing in the map because it won't include any information the board hasn’t yet investigated and verified.
Users can filter the information by location, the company involved and volumes released in spills.
The map shows 692 incidents across Canada since 2008 – 45 of those are deemed 'significant.'
The key denotes the type of incident – whether that be an oil spill, serious injury or fire – with a colour-coded dot over the location.
The NEB says map updates will be carried out quarterly, with the next one slated for July.
