Vacuworx honoured with award in exporting

World Pipelines,

Vacuworx, a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of vacuum-lifting technology and material-handling equipment, has received the 2014 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting.

Vacuworx President Bill Solomon accepted the award, presented on 10 April by Oklahoma’s Secretary of State Chris Benge on behalf of Governor Mary Fallin during the 31st Annual Oklahoma World Trade Conference at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Tulsa at Warren Place.

The export award was created to recognise the achievements of small to medium sized companies that have successfully entered the worldwide marketplace. Tulsa-based Vacuworx was nominated based on its commitment to investing in logistical, environmental and cultural resources and meeting fast-growing worldwide demand for reliable and economical material-handling solutions.

“We take a personalised approach to building lasting relationships in communities served in North America and across the globe,” Solomon said. “From partnering with pipeline and energy companies in Oklahoma to expanding our efforts to move parts and equipment even closer to customers and dealers in Europe, Australia, Latin America, South Africa and other parts of the world, the No. 1 priority at Vacuworx has always been to earn the highest-quality reputation in pipeline, utility, construction and energy related industries.”

Vacuworx Lifting Systems can handle nearly any diameter of steel, plastic, cast-iron or concrete pipe, as well as steel plate, pre-cast slabs and concrete road barriers. The company manufactures, sells, rents and services the lifters, which can be attached to excavators, backhoes, cranes, pipelayers or forklifts. Lift capacities range from 6600 - 44 000 lbs. Vacuworx was founded in 1999 and the following year made its first international export to Australia. Export sales skyrocketed in 2013 as the company improved on its logistical capabilities and expanded into new markets.

“Vacuworx is honoured to be included among Mathey Dearman Inc., TD Williamson and The Charles Machine Works Inc. and other past Governor’s Award recipients,” Solomon said. “Starting at the local level, these world-class organisations work tirelessly to elevate the state of Oklahoma’s status in a global economy.”
