Long-term gas supply by pipeline database updated

The CEDIGAZ database on ‘Long-Term Gas Supply Contracts by Pipeline in Europe’ has been updated. According to CEDIGAZ, more than 25 billion m3 of long-term contracts expired or are due to expire this year.
Only one new contract was signed for just 1 billion m3 for 10 years, illustrating growing short-term supply availability and long-term demand uncertainty.
Contracts expired/expiring in 2017 include contracts from exporting countries Denmark, Germany, Norway and Russia. Importing countries are Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Slovenia, Ukraine and the UK.
A new contract for 2017 is a 10 year gas supply contract signed between Gazprom and Croatian firm Prvo Plinarsko Drustvo starting in October 2017 for 1 billion m3/y.
