AS-Schneider, the industrial valve specialist, has developed a customised manifold based on its proven VariAS-Range for a company from the crude oil industry. The VariAS-Block is equipped with a swivelling adapter. This enables the position of the whole pressure hook-up to be flexibly varied, making the valves and pressure gauge easily accessible. The measuring instrument is mounted directly on the VariAS-Block.
The customer, a company from the crude oil industry, required a ball valve with Block & Bleed Function for measuring pressure in a pumping system. This had to have an additional test connector. In addition, the position of the connected pressure gauge was to be flexibly adjustable for ease of reading. A previous solution with several ball valves did not satisfy these requirements.
AS-Schneider developed an individual solution based on the proven VariAS-Range. The forged double Block & Bleed Valves with one-piece valve body replaced conventional installations consisting of several individual valves. The valve specialist fitted the VariAS-Block with a swivelling adapter at the input. This enables the position of the whole pressure hook-up to be flexibly varied, making the valves and pressure gauge easily accessible. The gauge is mounted directly on the VariAS-Block. The primary isolation is carried out by a ball valve, and a separate test port with a fitted test point is integrated into the VariAS-Block. The test port is shut off by means of a needle valve. A small vent valve is fitted for bleeding.
"Custom solutions for special applications are one of AS-Schneider's major strengths," said Managing Director, Rolf Kummer. "Our engineers look forward to tackling users' challenges. That's because we see ourselves not just as a supplier, but as a solution provider for our customers."
