Expansion plans for IOPTC

The Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company (IOPTC) is planning to extend the length of its pipeline network to approximately 14 400 km by the end of the current Iranian year (ending 20 March 2015), according to Abbasali Ja'fari, the company's Managing Director.

Ja'fari further stated that the National Iranian Oil Construction and Engineering Company (NIOEC) is expected to complete the remaining 420 km of the Abadan-Rey oil pipeline by the end of the year.

IOPTC is one of the major subsidiary companies of the National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC). The company’s main activities are focused on pipeline management and telecommunication management. IOPTC’s operational capacity is 50 000 million tpy and the company manages the following existing facilities: 14 000 km of 4 - 36 in. pipelines; 175 pump stations, pressure reduction and oil transport installations; 163 sets of turbins and 24 turbo generators; 181 sets of electromotors (buster pumps); 300 cathodic protection stations; 1.35 million Hp power installed; and 299 sets of main pressure enhancement pumps.
