The first meeting of the joint work group of Transneft Diascan and Sonatrach TRC, an Algerian pipeline operator, has taken place in Algiers.
The participants discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects in Algeria, including those involving Transneft. Preliminary agreements on in-line inspection projects, lightening protection of the tank farm, and composite collar repair were reached.
In October 2017, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Transneft and Sonatrach. The document was signed by Mikhail Margelov, Vice President of Transneft, and Abdelmoumen Uold Kaddour, Director General of Sonatrach. The signing ceremony took place during the visit of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to Algeria.
