Double Eagle pipeline now fully operational

World Pipelines,

Double Eagle Pipeline LLC, a joint venture between Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, LP and Magellan Midstream Partners, LP has announced that the 195 mile pipeline system is now in full operation to Texas.

Western leg

The 84 mile western leg of the Double Eagle pipeline system is connected into four central gathering facilities and is moving condensate from Gardendale near Cotulla, Texas, in LaSalle County through Three Rivers truck unloading and storage facility in Love Oak County to Magellan's Corpus Christi Terminal.

Eastern leg

The 37 mile eastern leg of the Double Eagle pipeline system is moving condensate from Karnes County, Texas, also through Three Rivers, and down to Magellan’s Corpus Christi Terminal.

In May 2013, the company began transporting condensate from Three Rivers to Magellan’s Corpus Christi terminal. Double Eagle’s new truck unloading and storage facility near Three Rivers started service in mid-April, 2013.

"We're pleased to be working with Magellan to expand our Double Eagle pipeline system to meet the increasing needs of producers moving condensate out of the Eagle Ford shale," said Don Lindley, president of Natural Gas Liquids for KMP. "With continued interest from our customers, we expect to see more expansion opportunities in the near future."

"The Double Eagle partnership provides increasingly important services for producers as production continues to increase and new market opportunities develop," said Robb Barnes, Vice President of Crude Oil & Marine Terminals for Magellan.

Double Eagle Pipeline system

The Double Eagle Pipeline system, operated by Kinder Morgan, includes 140 miles of new 12 in. pipeline. The Double Eagle system connects to an existing 55 mile, 14 in. and 16 in. pipeline segment owned by Kinder Morgan extending from Three Rivers to Magellan’s marine and storage terminal in Corpus Christi. The initial capacity of the pipeline is 100 000 bpd, but can be expanded to 150 000 bpd with additional pumps.
