IKM awarded Statoil contract

World Pipelines,

Concept selection for Johan Sverdrup was made in February 2014. The field is located south of Grane, north-east of Sleipner and about 140 km west of Stavanger. Water depth in the area is 110 - 120 m. Production start-up is expected in late 2019.

Managing Director on IKM Ocean Design, Peder Hoås, says in a press release "IKM Ocean Design is very pleased being awarded the contract. Our experience and competency fits well with the many challenges of Johan Sverdrup being a phased development. This is a continuation of the good work performed for the concept study completed beginning of this year and gives us the great opportunity to further support Statoil and its partners in developing the field architecture and subsea solutions for the largest oil discovery on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in 30 years."

The main objectives of the project is to further optimise the field architecture and infield pipeline layout to develop a cost-effective solution for the Johan Sverdrup field development. Work under the contract will commence immediately.
