Alliance Pipeline shutdown - update

Published by , Editor
World Pipelines,

Veresen Inc. has provided an update on the shutdown of the Alliance Pipeline system, which occurred on 7 August 2015, following the detection of hydrogen sulfide that entered the system as a result of complications experienced by an upstream operator.

Alliance Pipeline has made good progress on flaring operations to remove the natural gas containing hydrogen sulfide from its mainline pipeline system, which began on 9 August 2015.

Timing of the start-up of the Alliance pipeline is dependent on a number of safety and operational considerations associated with the flaring process, but regular operations are projected to resume on 13 August. Veresen does not expect the financial impact of the shutdown will be material to the company.
