World Pipelines,
Savage Services Corporation announced that it is commencing a binding open season at 9 a.m. mountain time on 11 May 2016, to solicit commitments for new pipeline facilities (Savage DAPL Connector pipeline) that would connect Savage’s Bakken Petroleum Services Hub in Trenton, N.D., to Dakota Access Pipeline’s (DAPL) pipeline facilities near Trenton, N.D.
The Savage DAPL Connector Pipeline would include approximately 9 miles of 10 in. interstate crude oil pipeline facilities. It is anticipated that the pipeline will have an initial capacity of 60 000 bpd, and an in-service date during the first quarter of 2017. Savage is seeking commitments from interested parties capable of committing to ship at least 10 000 bpd, for a minimum contract term of seven years. As a common carrier pipeline, as defined in the Interstate Commerce Act, the pipeline would be subject to the jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Pipeline benefits to shippers include a direct, pipe-to-pipe connection from Savage’s hub to DAPL’s pipeline system for further transport to prime markets, providing customers with greater optionality when combined with the Trenton Hub’s existing outbound options.
