World Pipelines,
IACS Ltd, a leading inspection, engineering, and testing consultancy, specialising in pipeline construction and backed by expertise in non-destructive testing (NDT) services, has announced a multi-million-pound investment in people and skills development with the launch of IACS Training and Education.
IACS Training and Education (IACS T&E), is the dedicated learning and development subsidiary for industry specialists IACS, which has been operating within energy pipelines for over 25 years.
Addressing the skills gap that is becoming increasingly evident within the industry, IACS T&E will support the urgent and important need for pipeline inspectors within the energy sector.
Laura Bailey, Director at IACS and IACS T&E, explains: “The changes within our sector over the next five years will be exponential. To support this, we need the right people with the right skills in place. Importantly we need lots of them!
“As a business, we have a rich heritage of investing in people, which is a testament to the values we have as a company. We nurture our colleagues and instil an approach that is focused on quality and safety, which is vital.
“IACS T&E will allow us to create a new generation of qualified, pipeline inspectors that are equipped to support the green agenda. All through the delivery of bespoke training programmes, packages and even apprenticeships that attract new people into our industry at a critical yet exciting time.”
James Baker, Director of IACS T&E, comments: “IACS T&E has been something we have wanted to put into practice for some time. We just had to make sure that we had everything in place. That’s why we have spent the last 12 months evolving our plan collaboratively with education and training partners, as well as those operating in the energy sector.
“Strategically we want to make sure that we are future proofing our business and that of the industry, which will require new skills and an understanding of the green agenda.
“The feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive as we work together to scale-up the numbers entering and excelling in pipeline inspection, which addresses the skills gap and evolving knowledge demanded by the energy market.”
