World Pipelines,
Essar Projects has won a contract for the replacement of 141 km of pipeline, at 18 in. dia. The contract was awarded by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) for the Koyali-Viramgam section of its Koyali-Sanganer pipeline.
Reviewing the contract, Essar Projects announced: “The contract is valued at more than Rs 85 crore, exclusive of the cost of pipes, which are being supplied by IOC."
A. V. Amarnath, Essar Projects COO, stated: "We are given the opportunity to work on a pipeline that has such a vital role in India's oil and gas sector. In fact, though falling oil prices have led to a slowdown in the global oil and gas industry, and to deferment of many new projects, we are beginning to see some kind of a revival in India. The proposed gas grid and the infrastructure requirements that will go hand-in-hand with the adoption of Bharat Stage 6 (BS-VI), will present a number of opportunities for EPC players in the foreseeable future. This win is a new beginning for us, and we want to pursue more projects in the oil and gas pipeline segment, in which we have world-class expertise and proven track record.”
