Gazprom and ENGIE discuss co-operation

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Gerard Mestrallet, Chairman of the ENGIE Board of Directors, took place on 4 October at the 6th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
The parties discussed the development of partnership under the programme for scientific and technical co-operation. They also commended joint efforts in such areas as pipeline transportation and underground gas storage; LNG production, storage, transportation and regasification; as well as energy saving. It was noted that the scientific and technical co-operation had high practical importance for enhancing the companies' performance.
The meeting also touched on gas deliveries from Russia to France and gas transmission to European countries.
The meeting participants reviewed the progress of the Nord Stream 2 project. ENGIE reaffirmed its position to facilitate the project.
On 4 October, Sergey Khomyakov (Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee) and Pierre Chareyre (Executive Vice President of ENGIE) signed an Addendum to the Agreement of Co-operation between the companies in the area of personnel development. The document outlines the general terms and conditions of personnel training and development, including in such areas as gas transportation and storage; LNG liquefaction, transportation and regasification; implementation of innovative projects; energy efficiency; and international project management.
