Axalta honoured the five founding members of the Axalta Commercial Transportation Business Council at a symposium that was held on 1 October – 3 October in Orlando, Florida.
The Commercial Transportation Business Council was established in 2009 in collaboration with a group of Axalta commercial fleet customers from across the U.S. The founding members were recognised for establishing the council and bringing awareness to needed changes in the repair and refinish heavy duty truck, bus, recreational and specialty vehicle industries. The honored members are: Danny Anderson of Anderson Brothers in Piedmont, South Carolina; Ray Chatfield of Truck Collision Services in Lansing, Michigan; Dean Hancock of Bob Johnson’s Body Shop in Cayce, South Carolina; and Ed Rietman of K&R Truck Sales & Repair in Holland, Michigan. A posthumous honor was awarded to Mark Gibson and accepted by Steve Wolf of Diversified Body & Paint Shop in Denver, Colorado.
Commercial Transportation Business Council members and invited guests attended a special three-day meeting to encourage interaction with key industry experts, learn more about Axalta products and services and reinforce key business fundamentals to help boost efficiency and profitability of their businesses.
“Axalta applauds the initiative these shop owners display every day by creating a group to address the everyday issues and obstacles they face in the trucking industry,” said Richard Cecchini, Axalta Commercial Transportation National Sales Manager. “We are proud to support their businesses by providing access to tools, services and the industry peers who can help them overcome challenges and achieve their own business goals and help improve the commercial vehicle industry as a whole.”
