Since joining Acteon in 2011, Smith has undertaken a variety of commercial and operational roles. He was instrumental in the merger of UTEC with NCS Survey in 2015 and was, most recently, responsible for the day-to-day management of UTEC’s operations worldwide.
As a member of UTEC’s senior management team since 2016, Smith helped the company to navigate a challenging period in the industry’s fortunes and enabled it to emerge with a more consistent approach across all operating regions and a focus on quality.
“I am looking forward to building on the efforts made by everyone in the organisation over the past few years, cementing our hard-earned reputation for service quality and working to grow the business from what is now a very sound base,” Smith said.
Smith took over from previous Managing Director Stuart Cameron on 20 August and will lead UTEC from its headquarters within the Acteon building in Aberdeen, UK.
