DENSO GmbH Germany wins IOCL tender
Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), India's biggest pipeline operator and one of the leading oil companies worldwide is continuously rehabilitating parts of its more than 11 000 km pipeline grid after 40 years of operation. The rehabilitation will be executed under operating conditions. For this, a 3-ply (inner wrap) and 2-ply (outer wrap) PE/Butyl-Tape-System has been selected, due to its proven outstanding technical performance and the easy application.
Denso GmbH Germany is the leading developed of high quality corrosion prevention and sealing technology since 1922. DENSO Germany success story commenced with the worldwide first passive corrosion prevention for pipelines: the DENSO®-Tape (Petrolatum-Tape), which was invented in 1927. Since then DENSO is the leading producer of high quality corrosion prevention products, such as Petrolatum-Tapes (DENSO®), Liquid Coatings (DENSOLID®), Sealing-Tapes (DENSIT®), Jetty Pile Protection (MarineProtect®), Heat Shrinkable Sleeves (DEKOTEC®) and PE/Butyl-Tape-Systems (DENSOLEN®) – all made in Germany.
In the past DENSO Germany already delivered more than 2.6 million m2 of the DENSOLEN® AS39P/R20HT-Tape System to IOCL for rehabilitation purposes. As in previous years, DENSO Germany has been recently awarded a new single order of IOCL for more than 2.4 million m2 (this equates to more than 335 football pitches!) of DENSOLEN® AS39P/R20HT to be delivered in 2014 and 2015 for about 320 km of pipeline.
IOCL requests to protect its pipelines from corrosion for at least another 40 years to come. The technical committee of IOCL is convinced of the outstanding 3-ply/2-ply PE/Butyl-Tape-System technology. DENSOLEN®-Tapes and Tape-Systems are the only corrosion prevention system worldwide with a proven longtime experience of more than 40 years. The high performance tape system DENSOLEN® has successfully been used in numerous pipeline projects worldwide with more than 100 million m2 applied over the last 40 years.
