Eddyfi releases new PEC solution for galvanised steel cladding

World Pipelines,
As a leader in advanced electromagnetic nondestructive testing (NDT) solutions, Eddyfi Technologies is proud to announce the launch of a patent-pending pulsed eddy current (PEC) probe, specifically designed to detect corrosion under insulation (CUI) in the presence of galvanised steel cladding.
Simultaneously, to support this new PEC-GS probe and new features, the Eddyfi® Lyft® software version 1.3 is being released.
Because they are ferromagnetic, galvanised steel weather jackets are a challenge for PEC inspections. Designed to overcome the adverse effects of this material, the patent-pending PEC-GS probe ensures: improved signal penetration; excellent detection capabilities and sizing accuracy; and enhanced signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
The Lyft 1.3 software was developed to support the acquisition of top quality data. During scans, the software automatically detects poor quality signals, displays warnings, and then supplies information about probable causes and potential solutions. The new release also implements a dynamic line filter that adjusts itself automatically during scans when noise sources in the line drift from initial setup values. Furthermore, it is now possible to label rebars and metal wire mesh during setup, enabling the software to select the best sizing algorithm for the application. Finally, this latest version includes new C-scans displaying the amount of wall loss.
