PRISMA, Europe’s leading gas capacity trading platform has announced two new shareholders: the Slovenian TSO, Plinovodi d.o.o., and Interconnector (UK) Limited, the joint venture company that owns and operates the strategic bi-directional gas pipeline and terminal facilities linking the UK and continental European energy markets.
“It has been an exciting year for PRISMA in terms of growth. We are happy to announce two new shareholders today. Working together with its partners and market users, PRISMA aims to be a key facilitator of the European gas market integration process.” said Götz Lincke, Managing Director of PRISMA.
Darren Reeve, Commercial Director of IUK said: ”Becoming a shareholder will allow us to play a part in the ongoing development of PRISMA and enable us to offer more capacity to the market and meet our obligations under the EU network codes.”
“Usage of PRISMA allows shippers to use in Slovenia the same tool as in many most developed natural gas markets. Thus, we provide the experience of the single EU natural gas market in simplified and more efficient manner. With the co-ownership of PRISMA we'd like to actively participate in the future development of the platform” said Matjaž Sušnik, Director of Economy Department, Plinovodi d.o.o.
With the new shareholder structure, PRISMA has now a total of 24 shareholders, in nine European countries.
